I am the youngest of three girls, born and raised in Havelock, North Carolina. My father, Wilbur Sasser, was the football coach at Havelock High School for 25 years. My mother, Beverly Nelson Sasser, is a Carteret County native and works for MCAS Cherry Point as the Personal Property Supervisor of TMO. I currently live in Newport with my husband, Chris, and my two year old son, Christopher Jr. (CJ).
I graduated from Havelock High School in December 2003 and began my journey as an ECU Pirate in January 2004. I started out as an Elementary Education major. However, upon visiting my cousin’s eighth grade English classroom, I realized my heart was in the “middle grades” and I switched my major to Middle Grades Education shortly after that visit. I recently completed the requirements for my BS in Middle Grades Education. My licensure areas are Language Arts and Social Studies.
I am looking forward to an excellent remainder of the year with you and your student.
